Bio

I grew up in Dallas, Texas interested in everything from swimming to saxophone. Art was always present in my life thanks to my parents, but in an effort to differentiate myself, I majored in biology at Trinity University in San Antonio. While there, I was a high jumper on the track team and lead alto in jazz band, but more importantly, I discovered my love of printmaking. After graduating, I spent the summer working on a trail crew in southeast Alaska through the Student Conservation Association. That experience—along with my biology background—continues to influence my art. I then coached swimming before—and while—expanding my printmaking skills at Brookhaven College. I received my MFA in Visual Art with Honors from the University of Kansas in 2021. I returned to Dallas and am currently teaching printmaking courses at the University of North Texas, and Dallas College’s Brookhaven campus while continuing to make art.
